The noble Chardonnay grape was the first varietal cultivated and bottled by Far Niente in their modern era, beginning with the 1979 vintage. Today they still remain true to their mission of making elegant Chardonnay with bright fruit, crisp acidity and a creaminess on the palate.
Winery note: "The 2016 vintage opens with bright melon, citrus blossom and honeysuckle aromatics, followed by notes of lightly toasted hazelnuts and an amazing minerality. Rounded and silky on the palate, flavors of ripe melon and citrus oil are underscored by juicy fruit and mouthwatering acidity. Subtle toasted oak notes and a hint of anise spice add warmth and richness to the long, focused finish."
