I know what you're thinking: Seriously Bo? A 10 year old California Chard? From Gallo?? Yes! I opened this almost as a joke with the rep and we were both completely bowled over by how this wine has held up. If you're not real wine geek, you probably equate Gallo with boxes of cheap supermarket swill, but they have always made very serious wine, and this is one of them. It was a $45 bottle of chard, but after ten years, they were of course motivated to sell it to us for MUCH less. So at $12.50 it's your gamble to take. Good chance that you'll get a pretty spectacular wine. Also a chance that it's getting tired. It's your wine - we don't want it back, so if doesn't pass your muster, cook with it, or feed it to the cat - your choice. If you don't like or appreciate mature wines, skip this one. More for me to drink. :)

For Gina, the Gallo Signature Series expresses her family's unique combination of vineyards. For Gina, the Gallo Signature Series expresses her family's passion for great vineyards and great wine, and it reflects the best the Gallo Winery has to offer. The Gallo Signature Series marks a return to hands-on, artisanal winemaking for Gina, and it brings to life the enduring legacy of Ernest and Julio Gallo.
