Our Estate Syrah is a complete expression of the diverse soils of our vineyard here on the Kubli Bench. It is deeply flavored and full of the classic black pepper notes that define refined styles of this variety. Our short days at harvest allow us to hang these grapes for an extended period without increasing sugar levels. This allows us to craft a wine that is richly flavored, but moderate in alcohol and high in acidity. Fermented in small fermenters, each filled with with varying percentages of whole-cluster and whole berry fruit, that each their own personalities to the final blend. It is then aged in mature French Oak barrels for eighteen months. Our goal for this wine is to reveal all the nuances of this exceptionally complex variety that are hidden in riper versions.
