"Clean and pure, this is made by a cooperative based in the Marne Valley village of Mardeuil, with 250 member growers. It’s presented in a luscious, oxidative style with white-cherry flavors, an apple-butter richness and touches of smoky earth. The wine’s stamina had the panel suggesting food ideas from roast pheasant to sturgeon pan-roasted with chanterelles and jamón Iberico. 92 points (reviewed at $110)." —Wine & Spirits

Located in Mardeuil, the House Jacques Lorent belongs to the prestigious world of Champagne. Its history begins in 1955 at the gates of Epernay, thanks to a group of winegrowers from the village of Mardeuil. The House comprises about 80 hectares of vines and 250 winegrowers. Its champagnes are marketed in France and internationally. The terroir of Champagne Jacques Lorent is rooted on the slopes of Epernay, in the heart of Champagne, where we find the three great Champagne grape varieties: the Meunier for its roundness and fruitiness; the Chardonnay for its freshness and finesse; and the Pinot Noir for its body and its length. The terroir of Mardeuil is among the most famous Champagne wines for the quality of its grape variety: the Meunier. Adapted to the climate of the Marne Valley, it is fully visible on the chalk basement of our vineyard. The House has been working for many years to preserve the Champagne heritage, which has now been recognized as a UNESCO heritage site for 7 years.
