Scala Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore is a cement-aged red wine made by the Scala winery with the Gaglioppo variety in the DOC Ciró, in the Calabria area (Italy).

The Scala estate dates back to the seventeenth century and in 1949 it became a family winery producing select and refined wines in the Cirò denomination. To do this, they have always opted to use native vines and the work in the winery is respectful and maintains the essence of the place. In short, the most beautiful Calabria wine.

Scala Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore comes from 30-year-old vines planted 200 metres above sea level on clay and calcareous soils. They are cultivated using respectful agriculture and work is carried out with care and attention to maintain biodiversity as much as possible. The harvest is manual at the optimum point of ripeness.

Once in the winery, the Scala Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore grapes are gently pressed and the must macerates with the skins for 15 days. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature and finally ages in concrete tanks for 24-36 months.

Scala Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore is a hauntingly scented wine with an obvious typical note of the native Gaglioppo variety.
